kling freeze mcp-demokling thaw mcp-demoOutput
efad9e5f7003 warm (754 ms, 256 MiB on disk)efad9e5f7003 running (22 ms)The file is small
Section titled “The file is small”Dumped memory is almost all zeros. kindling punches them out with fallocate --dig-holes.
256 MB → 81 MB, and waking still takes ~30 ms.
Freezing on its own
Section titled “Freezing on its own”kling run -image min -ttl 300 -cpu-pct 25 -egress internet-ttl freezes, it does not kill. That is what the serverless model does.
What survives
Section titled “What survives”| Survives | |
|---|---|
| Ephemeral service | nothing |
| Persistent service | freezing and waking its instance |
| A volume | everything: it is a journaled ext4 on the host |
| Base image and golden | everything: they are files |
